Private villa, Ios

A private villa on Ios, built in the language of Cycladic architecture: clean white volumes, walls of local stone and reed pergolas that shade the courtyards and passageways.

The HAUFEN® wooden windows, painted a soft sage grey, sit naturally against the stone and lime. Board shutters, solid entrance doors and wide glazed balcony doors open the house onto its terraces and the view across the bay.

Inside, the windows become frames: in the dining room and the bathrooms they hold the island landscape. At dusk, the villa’s warm light brings out the timber and every detail of the joinery.
