Timber

Grade A Malaysian Dark Red Meranti (450–500 kg/m³), dried to 9–11% moisture. For some types of windows, plywood is used instead of solid wood for the best durability.

Frame

Cross-section 68 x 81mm, from 3-ply laminated wood.

Sash

Cross-section 68 x 81mm. Depending on the customer’s requirements, they are also made in a slim series and in reinforced 78 and 92mm profiles.

Glass

Double insulating energy glazing. HAUFEN® uses Low-emissivity glass as standard, so that all its windows, in their basic version, reach a thermal transmittance that exceeds current building energy requirements.

Hardware

German hardware from the leading makers ROTO (NT series) or G-U; Siegenia or ROTO for sliding / folding doors, with anti-corrosion protection.

Opening windows come as standard with tilt-and-turn function, automatic espagnolette on the left leaf of double windows, tilt safety and plastic hinge covers in various colours.

Handles

HOPPE handles, Secustik series, in titanium, silver, bronze, brown and white. Many other handle types are available as options: see our handles.

Seals

Three high-quality perimeter seals (one on the frame, two on the sash) for complete watertightness, sound and thermal insulation, with long-lasting resistance to weathering and cracking.

Water bar

An anodised aluminium water bar is fitted on the bottom rail of the sash to drain water. Its new design keeps the bottom of the window watertight even in particularly harsh weather, like that of recent years in Greece.

The outer part of the aluminium is fully covered with solid wood, painted in the colour of the window.
