Painting: technical specifications
The general technical specifications of the paints and painting of HAUFEN® windows.
The painting process and the quality of the paint are among the most important factors in the long-term durability and look of wooden windows. HAUFEN®’s long experience in paints, combined with today’s technology, protects the surface of the wood and gives a perfect, long-lasting finish.
- Paints
- Eco-friendly water-based paints from Sigma Coatings (part of the PPG group) or Teknos Gori: an excellent finish, long-lasting resistance to harsh weather with changes in temperature and humidity, UV protection and easy care.
- Preparation
- Painting starts by treating the wood against insects and removing all fungi, followed by multiple coats of paint.
- Open-pore
- All paints are “open-pore” and elastic, so the wood can “breathe” and the paint surface does not crack.
- Colours
- Wood shades, RAL and NCS colours.
The painting cycle
Painting takes place in robotic electrostatic painting facilities, in the following stages:
Impregnation
The window is sprayed and fully flooded with fungicidal preservatives in a flow-coating chamber.
Drying
In a closed room with controlled temperature and humidity, followed by sanding of the surface by machine and by hand.
Robotic electrostatic painting
A four-stage cycle with varnish and colourants or RAL colours. Every stage is followed by the necessary drying time, sanding and strict quality control, up to the final coat.
